It's always fun to photograph a wedding of a former classmate. Zach and I went to high school together, so I was excited about working with him and his bride Sara at their wedding at The Houston Mill House in Decatur, GA. Zach and Sara met in college, and had been together a few weeks less than 12 years when they got married! Zach's cousin officiated the ceremony. Prior to the wedding she had requested that Zach and Sara answer some questions about each other, which she read aloud during the ceremony. It's quite clear that these two are a great match and will be as happy together in marriage as they have been for the last 12 years.Sara is an amazing artist, and made the necklace and earrings she wore for the wedding, as shown below. Also, she made Zach's ring, all of the groomsmen's cuff links, as well as the necklaces worn by the matron of honor and both mothers. You may also notice that Sara is not wearing a traditional white wedding dress. She wanted to have a dress that she could wear again, and purple is her color! Zach and Sara had a 'first look' before the ceremony, and the photo below on the left is Sara's expression as she walks up to her handsome groom!Sara also had one matron of honor, and two 'bridesdudes' - her brothers. She and her matron of honor both carried a simple bouquet of lilies. This is one of my favorite photos of the day. Sara was waiting for her cue to walk down the aisle. I was taking her photo when she noticed me, and I was able to capture this genuine, adorable smile. I feel like I need to point out that the woman you can see on the left is Zach's mom, and the man on the right is Sara's dad. This was a fun photo of all of the guests at this wedding. Photos from the reception to follow!
